After a December 27th preview event and a New Year's Eve dinner, restaurant/cocktail bar duo Borough and Parlour will officially open to the public tonight. The restaurant, Borough, is located on the ground floor of the ElseWarehouse Apartments in the North Loop; the cocktail bar, Parlour, is located in the building's basement, with street-level windows to bring in natural light. Two former Travail chefs, Nick O'Leary and Tyler Shipton, are at the helm of Borough. Jesse Held, formerly of Eat Street Social, is in charge of the drinks at Parlour, where bartenders will mix drinks at your table from a bar cart. A menu of small plates is also available at Parlour.
The Borough menu is divided into small, medium, and large plates, including dishes like bison tartare, sweetbread crepinette with chicken skin, octopus with butternut squash, and oxtail ravioli. Borough is open every day from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.; Parlour is open every day from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. As of Tuesday the 1st, there were still reservations available for opening night; they also do their best to accommodate walk-ins.
