The latest issue of Minnesota Monthly looks at several of husband-and-wife duos behind well-known Twin Cities restaurants, including Meritage, Sun Street Breads, Hell's Kitchen, and Heidi's and Birdhouse. How do they do it? In most cases, the answer is that there's still only room for one cook in the kitchen. Take Hell's Kitchen, where Cynthia Gerdes works at home on the business operations while her husband, Mitch Omer, is HK's executive chef.
