The next round of tickets for Travail's one-time pop-up soon-to-be permanent North Minneapolis outshoot Umami will go on sale today at 3 p.m. This time with a twist, though—the tickets are officially being called tickets for Umami Dim Sum, the name of the new Umami concept. This time, the $40 ticket buys a tasting menu with unlimited dim sum served from carts as well as 5-6 a la carte items.
Additionally, Umami will be taking limited walk-ins from 5:30-9 p.m. on all nights who can purchase $3-$5 dim sum items and $10-$15 a la carte dishes. (The tasting menu is only available with tickets.)
The Travail team will also be offering another ticket option today at 3 p.m., for a pop-up-within-a-pop-up on Monday, October 21st. The one-time only dinner will feature Jordan Slama (who bartends at Eat Street Social and Northeast Social), Jeff Watson (a chef at Burch Pizza), and Michael Lecy (a manager at Burch Steak and Pizza).
Tickets for that dinner are $35 (+$4.20 fee) and include tax and tip; the menu will include bone marrow, pork dumplings, chicken wings, seared scallops, kalbi, and miso ice cream. They'll also be offering an optional $15 cocktail pairing menu, as well as beer and wine (cash only for all drinks).
