The 2013 Charlie Awards, Northbound Smokehouse Fundraiser, and More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the Twin Cities:

CharlieAwards.jpg1) The 2013 Charlie Awards
When: Sunday, 3:30 p.m.
Where: Pantages Theatre
What: The Charlie Awards is a Twin Cities event that recognizes the exceptional contributions of Twin Cities metro area restaurants. The 3rd Annual Charlie Awards will be held on Sunday immediately followed by an after-party reception. There is also a four-course VIP dinner hosted by last year's honorees (Doug Flicker, Steven Brown, Lenny Russo, and Michelle Gayer) which will be held at the Walker Art Center. NBoundJeffDay.jpg2) A Day for Jeff at Northbound Smokehouse
When: Monday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Where: Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub
What: Northbound's sous chef, Jeff Robinson, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke at work. Over the next several months he will undergo surgery and/or chemo and radiation. On Monday, November 18th, the brewpub is donating 100% of their profits to Jeff and his wife to help cover expenses. When: Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Kitchen Window
What: The Heavy Table invites you to celebrate the launch of their first book, The Secret Atlas of North Coast Food. They're co-hosting a local food festival and book signing event at Kitchen Window with food and drink samplings from local purveyors including Badger Hill, Birchwood Cafe, Verdant Tea, and many more. liftbridgecommander.jpg4) Lift Bridge Commander Barleywine Release Party
When: Saturday, 3 to 10 p.m.
Where: Lift Bridge Brewing Company
What: Lift Bridge is throwing a release party for the limited release of their Kentucky bourbon barrel-aged Commander Barleywine Ale. The event promises live music, local food trucks, contests and more. Ticket can be purchased online or at the brewery and more event details can be found here.

When: Saturday, noon to 8 p.m.
Where: Fulton Brewery
What: Get your food truck fix while you can over at Fulton this Saturday for another Fulton Food Truck Fest. Trucks Moral Omnivore, Cafe Racer, and MidNord Empanada will be outside the taproom serving up fare to be brought inside and enjoyed with Fulton's tap brews. craftsrava.jpgAlso of Note: Mpls Craft'za Craftstravaganza is going on over at the Grain Belt bottling house building with crafts, activities, and food trucks (Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m). Bad Weather Brewing is throwing a release party for their Ominous Ale at Grumpy's NE (Monday 4 p.m.). Over at Grumpy's in Roseville you can meet the brewer and drink a firkin of Summit Brewing's Biere de Garde (Friday, 3 p.m.). There's a Beer and Wine Tasting over on Lake Street today with a silent auction and food (Thursday, 5:30 p.m.). Pizzeria Lola is celebrating their anniversary by baking the winning Metal Pizza Contest recipe and pouring all sorts of Surly beers (Thursday, 5 p.m.). Cosmos celebrates 10-years with chef composed plates, oysters, and cocktails (Thursday, 7 to 10 p.m.). Looking for some beer dinners? Take your pick: Brasa and Lagunitas (Tuesday), Devil's Advocate and Crazy Mountain Brewing (Wednesday), or Jax Cafe and Summit (Wednesday). And finally, make sure you get your tickets for the upcoming Fortify Food event happening at The Buttered Tin because it will sell out.
