[Birchwood Café Kickstarter Page]
The beginning of this week has turned out to be a full-court press period for the Birchwood Cafe's Kickstarter campaign, with posts up at Mpls.St.Paul.Magazine, Heavy Table, and City Pages in close to a 24-hour period. Seward's beloved launched its Kickstarter campaign on October 27; on Monday, Minnesota resident and Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern wrote on his Mpls.St.Paul Magazine blog that he was supporting the Kickstarter and urged readers to get behind it, as well. A sponsored post on Heavy Table and a regular post on City Pages also rallied the Kickstarting troops.
So far, the Birchwood Kickstarter has 342 backers, who have raised $33,646 (of a $100,000 goal). Rewards include a pizza dinner at Riverbend Farm ($125 pledge gets two tickets), a non-pizza dinner at the farm with musical guest Mason Jennings ($300 pledge gets two tickets), and other Birchwood goodies, including a guest chef dinner, which will be a collaboration between the Birchwood's Marshall Paulsen and one of several local chefs, including Tilia's Steven Brown, The Strip Club's J.D. Fratzke, Alma's Alex Roberts, Heartland's Lenny Russo, and Lucia's Lucia Watson.
