Eat Street Social's Minnesota Exotic, Izzy's Minneapolis Grand Opening Celebration, and More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the Twin Cities:

When: Monday, 7 p.m.
Where: The Torpedo Room at Eat Street Social
What: Join Dinner on the Farm, Nick Kosevich, and Marco Zappia (aka Don Fuego) for the last Underground Dinner Party of the season. The family-style dinner will include a four-course menu inspired by local farms and paired with Eat Street Social's "Minnesota Exotic" cocktails. When: Saturday, noon
Where: Izzy's Ice Cream Mpls
What: Izzy's is throwing a Grand Opening celebration for their new Minneapolis location. Open since late July, the new space is finally complete and they are inviting people to come out for games, prizes, face painting, balloons, ice cream, and more. uptowncaf.jpg3) Autumn Brewhaha
When: Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m.
Where: Uptown Cafeteria and Support Group
What: Uptown Cafeteria is having an Autumn Brewhaha with unlimited beer samples from 9 local brewers, including Flat Earth, Bad Weather, and Schell's. There will be over 25 beers to sample paired along side a buffet of fall fare from chef Steve Hesse and his culinary staff. There will also be a raffle, favorite beer contest, and more. When: Saturday, 10 p.m.
Where: Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub
What: Local show turned national, Beer Geeks, has featured Northbound Smokehouse Brewpub on its show. The focus of the segment will be on the collaboration Northbound did with Indeed Brewing called Hotbox, a smoked imperial porter. Northbound is hosting a viewing of the show at the brewpub with an extended happy hour featuring Indeed beers and extended kitchen hours. More information about the viewing party can be found here.

mnhistory.jpg5) Minnesota History Center Bootlegger's Ball
When: Friday, 8 to 11 p.m.
Where: Minnesota History Center
What: For one night only, the History Center will be transformed into a swanky speakeasy mimicking the days of Prohibition in correlation with the national traveling exhibit "American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition." Pose for mugshots, dance to live music, and compete for prizes in amateur dance-offs. There will also be sampling of local beers Summit and Lucid and moonshine cocktails designed just for the evening. For more information click here.

LOLAMINN.jpgAlso of Note: Indeed Brewing is taking over the taps and releasing their Stir Crazy Winter Ale at Pizzeria Lola (Tuesday, 5 p.m). Brit's Pub celebrates Armistice Day with food and drink specials and more (Monday 6 p.m.). Or head over to any of the 5-8 Club locations where all veterans receive a free Juicy Lucy (Monday). Stanley's Northeast Bar Room celebrates their 3rd anniversary all week long with drink specials (starting Monday). The Kingfield Farmers Market is having their annual Holiday Market with a huge local vender line-up. It is your first chance to get Boom Island Brewing 2013 Yule and your last chance to stop into their N 2nd St sample room/brewery before they move (Friday and Saturday). Get your pizza recipe submissions in by Friday for Pizzeria Lola and Surly Brewing's Metal Pizza Contest or just check it out because it is kind of amazing. And if you haven't heard the news, World Street Kitchen will begin serving brunch beginning this weekend (Saturday, 10 a.m.).
