Travail's Bob Gerken is hereby crowned the Hottest Chef in Minneapolis (er, Robbinsdale, technically). Gerken beat out 14 other chefs, including his own kitchen-mate James Winberg. His race against WInberg turned out to be Gerken's toughest match of the day, with our victor eking out an 11-vote victory of 140 votes to Winberg's 129. Comparatively, Gerken won the final round against Alex Roberts—the still-extremely-hot chef of Brasa and Alma—quite handily, with a final score of 211 votes to 94 votes for Roberts.
Soon, Gerken will represent Minneapolis in a no-holds-barred national hot chef death match, featuring cooks from all of the other Eater cities. Congratulations to Gerken (and all our other hot chef nominees), and thanks to all the readers that nominated chefs and voted in the competition.
