A tipster sent us this photo of signs of life inside Rincon 38, the long-awaited tapas restaurant from Hector Ruiz, of Café Ena and the now-shuttered El Mesón. The new restaurant—which will focus on small plates with a Spanish theme—was originally slated for an early 2012 opening, and was then shooting for a late January opening, but has yet to set a firm opening date.
According to the restaurant's liquor license application (dated September 2012), it will have 32 indoor seats and an additional 16 seats on the patio. The restaurant is planning to stay open until 1 a.m. every night, adding another late-night option to Kingfield.
Remember, keep those tips coming! Openings, closings, overheard whisperings—no matter how big or small, we want to hear about it.
