Status: Opens at 4 p.m. today
It was only a few days ago that signs of life were reported at the long-awaited Kingfield tapas restaurant Rincón 38. Well, things move fast in tapas-land: the restaurant will be opening at 4 p.m. today, it announced on its Facebook page. The tapas restaurant is the latest from Hector Ruiz, who is also the chef and co-owner of Café Ena and the now-shuttered El Mesón. The menu isn't available yet, but the restaurant's Facebook page shows some sample dishes like smoked salmon on garlic crostini and roasted piquillo peppers stuffed with Spanish tuna, capers, Piparra peppers, and red onion, with a Balsamic glaze.
The restaurant is planning to be open late-night, and will also open a six-table patio running along 38th Street during the summer.
