Lobsters aren't just on the plates at Smack Shack, they're also on the walls. How did they make the 3-D lobster mural that fills one wall of the main dining room? Well, a few lobsters were, indeed, harmed in the making of that art, which was created by a local artist who took cooked lobsters and pressed them into molds.
Other lobster-themed decor includes locally-designed lobster-net light fixtures and an arrangement of honest-to-goodness lobster traps, from a lobstering boat in Maine. Photos from Thoma's coastal travels are also placed throughout the space, as well as jars of the same house-made pickles that will appear alongside the food.
