The Food Network's new show Food Court Wars, hosted by Tyler Florence, is coming to Minnesota, reports City Pages. The show—produced by Hell's Kitchen's Gordon Ramsay—goes to a different city in each episode. Two teams compete for the prize of a year of rent-free restaurant space in a local mall's food court (a prize the show values at up to $100,000). The pilot premiered in late December with an episode in Huntsville, Alabama.
According to the casting website, the show is looking for:
Teams with pre-existing relationships (i.e. friends, family, couples, co-workers) who believe they have the winning formula to successfully run their own locally inspired and original eatery.
Also according to the casting website, the eatery concept must be based on the local region of Burnsville, MN, leading City Pages to speculate that the winning eatery will end up in the food court at Burnsville Center. That means entrants should have a Minnesota-themed eatery idea, but maybe a specifically Burnsville one would be even better.
