The last week or two have seen some changes in the kitchen at Birdhouse, Stewart Woodman's more casual Uptown restaurant (Woodman also co-owns Heidi's). Jes Werkmeister is out as executive chef and Andrew Kraft is in; no news on why the change happened. Werkmeister—a former sous chef at Heidi's—replaced Birdhouse's first executive chef Ben Mouk, who was only in the kitchen from the opening in June 2012 to August 2012.
We're still waiting on confirmation from Birdhouse, but it seems that Kraft is the same Andrew Kraft of such New York restaurants as Osteria Cotta and Six Street Kitchen. He was also named a Saveur Tastemaker—basically a member of a chef's advisory board for the magazine—in August 2012.
