Long have there been rumors that Travail—that no-reservations Robbinsdale restaurant known for its inventive food and epic waits—would be closing its original spot and moving to a bigger location. Well, according to Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl, it's official: Travail, as we know it, will close on April 6.
Grumdahl reports that the Travail team will be opening three new spots, all in Robbinsdale, over the course of the year. First up, Pig Ate My Pizza, a pizzeria and charcuterie restaurant that will occupy the current Travail space; the pizzeria will open as soon as they can get a pizza oven in the space. Next up, will be two restaurants: one, a new smaller Travail and a cocktail-sandwich spot called The Rookery. The Travail team is hoping to open the new Travail and The Rookery in September.
