Tiki Bar Coming to Eat Street Social Patio This Summer

Patio season may still be a month or more away, but Eat Street Social is already making big plans for an artisanal tiki bar in its outdoor space, according to Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl. The popular cocktail bar and restaurant has decided to make a theme for the patio every summer, and this year, it's tiki, and yes, they may be setting some stuff on fire (drinks? torches? who knows?).

And what, exactly, does an artisanal tiki bar entail? Top of the line ingredients, like housemade flavorings and syrups (with Macbeth-like names of orgeat, allspice dram, and falernum) and fresh-squeezed juice. The tiki bar will be in place for the summer of 2013, and then the summer of 2014 will bring a new theme to the patio.

Also noteworthy: Eat Street Social's sister restaurant Northeast Social will be creating its own cocktail menu this summer, now that it's got the right liquor license, Grumdahl reports.
