The Tangiers, Mason's, & French Corner Bistro All Seeking Liquor Licenses

NORTH LOOP — After announcing its plans almost a year ago, The Tangiers (previously announced as Tangiers Eatery and Lounge) seems to finally be moving forward (or at least taking some baby steps) with its opening. The Journal Mpls reports that a city council committee is holding a public hearing this afternoon to review The Tangiers' plans, including its application for a liquor license. The 152-seat eatery—located at 116 1st Ave. N.—will be open Wednesdays through Sundays, serving sandwiches, salads, and small plates, as well as cocktails, wine, and beer. [The Journal Mpls]

DOWNTOWN — A new French bakery is coming to Nicollet Mall, according to the Journal Mpls. The French Corner Bistro & Bakery will be located at 1200 Nicollet Mall, formerly the Dahl Pharmacy space. The approximately 40-seat space will serve traditional French pastries and breads, as well as breakfast and lunch (and it's applying for a liquor license). [The Journal Mpls]

DOWNTOWN — A new spot called Mason's is moving into the massive restaurant space in the Cowles Center, previously occupied by Lone Tree Bar & Grill, reports the Journal Mpls. The 5,275-square-foot space seats 217 people inside, plus an additional 42 outside. [The Journal Mpls]
