This morning, Food & Wine magazine announced its 2013 class of Best New Chefs, which includes Minneapolis's own Jamie Malone , the chef de cuisine at Sea Change. The Best New Chef nod is one of the most coveted distinctions in the food world. Past Minneapolis BNCs include Heidi's Stewart Woodman; nationally, past BNCs include big names like Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller, David Bouley, David Chang, April Bloomfield, and many others. In Malone's profile, Food & Wine writes "why she's amazing": "Because she's masterfully running one of the country's best sustainable seafood restaurants."
It's been a big year for Malone, who was also named a James Beard Award semifinalist for rising star chef this year.
