The team behind Robbinsdale's Travail Kitchen and Amusements announced on Facebook that their latest venture, Pig Ate My Pizza, is on schedule to open next week in the old Travail space. The pizzeria will feature an ever-changing menu of pizzas and housemade charcuterie (and, likely, pizzas with housemade charcuterie). There's also been some talk of a pan-skillet brioche deep-dish pizza.
The chef-owner team behind Travail—Mike Brown, James Winberg, and Bob Gerken—closed the first incarnation of the restaurant on April 6th. After opening Pig Ate My Pizza, they will be working on a new space that will include a 50-seat version of Travail as well as a cocktail spot, the The Rookery. They're aiming to have Travail 2.0 and the Rookery—located just three doors down from the original restaurant in Travail—open in September.
