Status: Opens at 5 p.m. today
After a soft opening last night, much-anticipated charcuterie/pizza spot Pig Ate My Pizza opens in Robbinsdale tonight at 5 p.m. The opening comes only a little more than a month after Travail's team of chefs and co-owners—Bob Gerken, James Winberg, and Mike Brown—announced that they would temporarily shutter their highly-lauded restaurant to pursue an ambitious plan of opening three eateries. Pig Ate My Pizza, a restaurant specializing in housemade charcuterie, pizza, and pizza topped with housemade charcuterie is the first of the new spots, located in the remodeled space that housed the original Travail.
Once Pig Ate My Pizza is open, the Travail gents will be stepping back and focusing on opening the next two spots, a reopened Travail and a cocktail bar called The Rookery, which will share a space on the same street in Robbinsdale. Chefs Tyler Fiecke, Travis Stanfield, and Matt Brown (Mike's brother) will be heading up the Pig Ate My Pizza kitchen.
Pig Ate My PIzza wil be serving dinner only for the first few weeks, but they'll eventually add a lunch menu. No reservations.
