DOWNTOWN/DINKYTOWN — Burgeoning chain One Two Three Sushi announced that they will open two new locations this summer, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The restaurant, which opened its first location downtown in February, focuses on made-to-order sushi, ramen, and buns. It will open a second downtown location in late summer on the skyway level of 50 10th Street South, which will have seating for 30. The other new location will open in September in Dinkytown at 318 S.E. 14th St.; that location will be open for dinner and on weekends, unlike the downtown locations. DOWNTOWN — The Butcher & the Boar's pastry chef, Sarah Botcher, is leaving the restaurant to focus on her recently-launched pop-up bakery, Black Walnut Bakery. She will still be providing bread and other baked goods to the restaurant, and may run a special pop-up shop in the beer garden sometime in the near future. [EaterWire]
NOKOMIS — Doug Flicker's new concession at Lake Nokomis, Sandcastle, is scheduled to open in late June, reports the Longfellow Nokomis Messenger. Flicker—who also runs the kitchen at the acclaimed Kingfield restaurant Piccolo—will be serving up menu items like chilled gazpacho, watermelon salad, sweet pea falafel, and a signature hot dog, The Dog Flicker: a beef frank with kimchee, cilantro, and fried egg.
