The Minneapolis-based Animal Rights Coalition staged a protest at North Loop restaurant 112 Eatery on Saturday as part of its "Forego Foie Gras" campaign. The restaurant—whose chef and co-owner is the James Beard award-winning Isaac Becker—is known for its foie gras meatballs, among other foie gras preparations. According to City Pages, the group has been running a campaign against foie gras since 2011, reaching out to diners and asking for public no-foie pledges from restaurants. [City Pages]
