Stewart Woodman's Birdhouse on Hennepin Has Closed

After opening a little less than a year ago, Birdhouseannounced that it has closed on its Facebook page today. The restaurant was a second project from Heidi's co-owners Stewart and Heidi Woodman. About an hour ago, the Birdhouse Facebook page posted:

It's with heavy hearts that we share that Birdhouse has closed its doors today. We thank all of our customers who have dined with us over the past year. We look forward to continuing to see and serve you at Heidi's.

Unlike the Woodmans' acclaimed Heidi's, the more casual Birdhouse received mixed reviews, and also shuffled through three executive chefs in just one year. The space—formerly home to Duplex—also seems to be ill-fated, though neighboring restaurant Namaste has been in business for years.
