With today's opening of Verdant Tea Tasting Room, Seward is getting a whole lot of good things all at once: a chai microbrewery, tea mixology, Sweet Science ice cream, housemade chocolate, and even more vegetarian and vegan food. Located on Franklin Avenue in the old Seward Coop space, Verdant Tea offers vegetarian menu items designed by the Birchwood Café including plenty of farm-to-table, vegan, and gluten free options. All menu items are meant to pair well with tea, from the chai dusted mini donuts to the carrot ginger soup to the café's trademark granola. They've also got ice cream from local company Sweet Science (rhubarb cinnamon almond, anyone?), and tea-infused truffles and chocolate bars from Minneapolis-based The Real Deal Chocolate. In addition to the food and tea offerings, the tasting room will also host events like sunrise meditation and quigong.

Verdant Tea Tasting Room is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
