A new restaurant, La Fresca, is slated to open at 47th and Grand, reports Southwest Journal. The restaurant, from Hector Ruíz of Cafe Ena and Rincón 38, will feature grass-fed burgers, ice cream, and "European comfort food."
According to the Southwest Journal, the new venue targets Washburn High School students in an effort to provide them with healthier options. The 36-seat restaurant will include a totally open kitchen, Mexican-style ice cream, and sandwiches on bolillo, which Ruiz describes as a "Mexican baguette with a crunchy top and a soft middle."
La Fresca is hoping to be open by October, with potential hours from noon to 10 p.m. or 12 a.m.
