1) Basilica Block Party
When: Friday and Saturday, 5 to 10:30 p.m.
Where: The Basilica of Saint Mary
What: The Cities 97 Basilica Block Party returns once again for two-days of live music. Expect to see food from AZ Canteen, El Burrito Mercado, Holy Land Deli, Smoke-In-D's BBQ, and Stanley's. Strap on a wristband and sip on Somersby Cider, Goose Island and Shocktop beers, plus libations from 2 Gingers and the new UV Vodka Bar. 2) Roots, Rock, and Deep Blues Festival
When: Saturday, 1 to 10 p.m.
Where: Harriet Brewing Company
What: The third annual RRDB Fest features twenty-six bands over the festival's three outdoor stages and one intimate indoor stage. Rain or shine, Harriet Brewing will be pouring beer inside the taproom while outside you'll find food from Mr. Mustachios, House of Hunger, Starlight Diner, Kabamelette, Tollefson's Family Pork, and The Blue Door Pub will be grilling up blucys, too. 3) All Pints North
When: Saturday, 3 to 7 p.m.
Where: Bayfront Festival Park
What: The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild presents the second annual All Pints North Summer Brew Fest to celebrate breweries and brew pubs in the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, plus a few select regional and national craft brands. Sample superior craft brews next to Lake Superior along with food from vendors Nate Dogs, Pizza Luce, Chow Haul, Duluth Grill, King of Creams, and The Rambler. Ticket information and more found here.
4) Brooklyn Beer Dinner
When: Tuesday, 6 to 10 p.m.
Where: The Happy Gnome
What: Chef Scott from The Happy Gnome has created a five-course tasting menu to be paired with six beers from Brooklyn Brewery. Inside sources have indicated there may even be a sampling of an exclusive Brooklyn brew that doesn't exist elsewhere. Get your tickets while they last at the The Happy Gnome's website.
5) Grumpy's 15th Annual Northeast Folk Festival
When: Saturday, noon
Where: Grumpy's Northeast
What: It its 15th year, this rain or shine event features a stacked lineup of local folk bands and musicians. It is set to take place both inside Grumpy's Northeast location and at the outdoor stage adjacent to the club. For food and beverages, you can find pulled pork, Demon Dogs, and brats to pair with Grumpy's full line of Surly beers and other microbrews. For music lineup, check out Grumpy's Facebook event page.
Also of Note: Sound Unseen is hosting the first of their pop-up Rooftop Cinefeasts (Sunday 7 p.m.). Summit's Taproom Friday (3 to 8 p.m.) will feature Tiki Tim's food truck and live music from DJ Hotpants. The Minneapolis Aquatennial starts this weekend with events like the Midtown Market's Global Music Festival (Saturday, 2 p.m.). The Dragon Festival is in its tenth year bringing Asian heritage, music, and food to Lake Phalen (Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Want to wear your food?
