Izzy's Ice Cream Opening Soon in Downtown Minneapolis

Word has finally come through on the Minneapolis location of Izzy's Ice Cream, which will open by the end of this month, according to Minnesota Monthly. Owner and proprietor Jeff Sommers first broke groud for the downtown Minneapolis location last September.

Designed by architect David Salmela, the site sits in the Downtown East neighborhood of Minneapolis near the Mill City Museum, Guthrie Theater, and Gold Medal Park. Originally designed as a small production factory, Izzy's Minneapolis will be more of an "ice cream kitchen," Sommers told Ross, "with wholesale production for grocery and restaurant distribution as well as a retail shop similar in scope (if slightly smaller in size) to the St. Paul location."
