This fall, Russian vodka bar Hammer & Sickle will open in the former Kinsen space in Uptown, reports Southwest Journal. The restaurant/bar will also serve Eastern European food, focusing on Russian cuisine, including pierogies, Russian-style barbecue skewers, and Russian-style stroganoff (served over mashed potatoes instead of noodles). It will also serve vodka flights—chosen from the bar's selection of more than 60 vodkas—and caviar flights.
Owner Gene Suh also owns Uptown's Lyndale Tap House, Apple Valley's The Valley Tap House, and the upcoming Prairie Tap House (opening in Eden Prairie this fall). Along with chef Phil Dvorak and general manager Tony Ostlund, Suh is shooting for a early October opening.
