Welcome to our photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographers visit some of the city's great
restaurants eating experiences to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, opening day of the Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul.
Every year, devoted eaters state-wide look forward to the deep-fried, on-a-stick abundance that is the Minnesota State Fair. For yesterday's opening day, eager fair-goers descended on the fairgrounds for roasted corn, fresh-baked cookies, cheese curds, fried pickles and more. Photographer Katie Cannon toured the fair in the late afternoon to check out the crowd, as well as some classic eats. Check out more images of the fair by clicking on the photo above.
