Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the Twin Cities:
1) Kramarczuk's 4th Annual Kielbasa Festival
When: Friday, 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Kramarczuk's
What: Mayor Rybak has officially proclaimed today "Kielbasa Day" in honor of Kramarczuk's Kielbasa Fest this weekend. The two-day event brings live music, street food from the sausage company, and plenty of beer including Surly Dampfbier, a special beer brewed just for the occasion. 2) Summit Backyard Bash
When: Saturday, noon to 8 p.m.
Where: Summit Brewing Company
What: Summit is throwing their backyard bash once again, this time to celebrate 27 years of brewing. The event is at the St. Paul brewery and promises lots of music, food, and beer. There will be a variety of Summit beer including Kellerbier, an unfiltered beer straight from the fermentation tanks. 3) The Gray House One Year Party
When: Wednesday, 4 p.m.
Where: The Gray House
What: In honor of the Lyn-Lake gastropub's 1-year anniversary, Chef Ian Gray is having a three day celebration with three different menus starting on Wednesday. $45 will get you the choice of three dishes from a selection of seven, choice of dessert, and two beverages. The tap list will consist of a ton of new beer releases including Indeed's Sweet Yamma Jamma. You can find more information here.
4) Oceanaire Oyster Bash
When: Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Oceaniare Seafood Room
What: Oceanaire is kicking off the Vikings season opener by throwing an oyster bash at the downtown Minneapolis restaurant. There will be live music, prize drawings, and unlimited Blue Island oysters. Surly is the featured beer on tap with $2 beer specials including Furious, Bender, and Hell to name a few. 5) Lift Bridge Five Year Anniversary
When: Saturday, noon to 10 p.m.
Where: Lift Bridge Brewing Company
What: To celebrate the brewery's 5th anniversary and the recent hop harvest, Lift Bridge is having a huge party. There will be brewery tours, live music, and prize giveaways all day long. Expect plenty of beer (including a keg of Oktoberfest) and food from local vendors Leo's Grill and Sara's Tipsy Pies. Guests are invited to help pick fresh hops while listening to live bluegrass music. The event is free but reservations must be made. Find more information here.
Also of Note: Border Battle Beer Fest is back featuring a variety of Minnesota and Wisconsin micro-brewed beers, food, beer demonstrations, games, live entertainment, and more (Saturday 1 p.m). Fulton is teaming up with The Local for a 7-course beer dinner (Tuesday 7 p.m.). Badger Hill is also having a beer dinner (Tuesday, 6 p.m.) at Stout's Pub featuring 5-courses paired with 5 of the brewery's beers. Longfellow Grill and Summit Brewing are joining forces for a patio party featuring Summit Oktoberfest and German fare (Wednesday, 5 p.m.). Tickets for Meritage's 3rd annual Oysterfest go on sale to the public on Monday.
