Just-Launched Rabbit Hole Kickstarter Already 2/3 Funded

After launching on Friday, the Kickstarter for the Rabbit Holethe upcoming restaurant from Thomas Kim and Kat Melgaard of the Left Handed Cook—is already two-thirds funded at $6,672 of a $10,000 goal (as of 10:40 this morning). Out of the 65 backers, one of the first was Piccolo's Doug Flicker, who tweeted that he had backed the project on Saturday morning.

In the Kickstarter video, Kim and Melgaard explain the restaurant's concept as bringing a little bit of Koreatown to Minneapolis; in the video, Kim also takes viewers on a little plywood tour of the unfinished Rabbit Hole space. The funds will go toward purchasing specialized equipment, including a smokeless charcoal burner, brass tea kettles, special drinking cups, and hard-to-find soju glasses, and also constructing the restaurant's chef counter, which will include a two-level marble countertop.

The Kickstarter, which will be up until September 30, comes with a wide range of incentives, which include:

$10: Handwritten thank you note, virtual high five on Facebook/Twitter
$20: Rabbit Hole can cozy and a hug from the chef, Kim
$35: Mystery jar of awesomeness (housemade kimchi, pickled radish, gochu sauce, rummy rabbits)
$180: "Work" with Kim on a Rabbit Hole beverage that you also name (stays on menu until next menu change)
$200: "Work" with Kim on a Rabbit Hole burger that you also name (stays on menu until next menu change)
$500: Chef's dinner for 2 x 2 (two chef's dinners for two people)
