Much-anticipated restaurant Coup d'Etat—from the Borough team of Tyler Shipton, Nick O'Leary, and Jesse Held—is opening next week and Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's Stephanie March has a preview. O'Leary told March that the food will not be like the elaborately constructed plates at Borough, but it also won't be Uptown's usual burger/pizza/taco menu. What to expect? Arancini balls, flatiron steak, salt crusted loup de mer, tuna crudo, pastas from scratch, and more. Plus, as promised, a walk-up street-side window facing Lagoon serving daily specials as listed on a chalkboard menu (here's where you might find some burger-taco-pizza action).
On the cocktail front, Parlour's Jesse Held will once again be behind the bar, but March reports that the drinks will be more "European style," meaning a lighter, less boozy drink.
The 300-seat restaurant is scheduled to open next week.
