As of today, Jack Riebel is no longer a part of downtown restaurant and beer garden Butcher & the Boar, reports Stephanie March at Mpls.St.Paul Magazine. Riebel—who started the restaurant in March of 2012 and was named a James Beard finalist for Best Chef Midwest this year—has sold his ownership shares to the restaurant's other partners and has stepped down as head chef. According to March, the split was amicable, and Riebel announced the change to the staff just before New Year's Eve. The restaurant's butcher and former kitchen manager Peter Botcher will be replacing Riebel as head chef.

Riebel is continuing with his consulting role on the makeover/relaunch of the former Joe's Garage in Loring Park, but the project is no longer named Triton, as originally planned. The launch is planned for this summer.
