Take a Tour of Coup d'Etat, Now Open in Uptown

After a soft opening last week, 300-seat Uptown blockbuster Coup d'Etat—from the team behind the North Loop's Borough and Parlour—is finally officially open to the public. The enormous two-level space features chandeliers, paper lanterns, a central downstairs bar as well as an auxiliary upstairs bar, handpainted murals, and lots of wood, leather, and tile. Other fun interior facts: the floor is in a herringbone pattern, the booths have an extra four inches of cushioning for extra comfort, the tabletops are marble, and there are many touches throughout—from the tile to the wood art on the walls—to connect the design aesthetic to Borough (which won the 2013 Eater Award for Stone Cold Stunner). Also, keep an eye out for the special Masters of the Universe table (or so we're calling it): a secluded spot on the second floor with all high-backed chairs.

Coup d'Etat is now open daily from 4:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., and the full menu (food and drinks) is available on the restaurant website.

Eater Minneapolis sent photographer Katie Cannon to shoot the space. Take a tour.
