winterfestwknd.jpg3) Germanic American Institute Winterfest
When: Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight

More information can be found here.

When: Saturday, 1 p.m.
Where: Brit's Pub & Vincent A Restaurant
What: The Nicollet Mall institutions are once again teaming up for this 11th annual rugby-watching tradition. Watch the two countries square off in a rugby match while enjoying beer specials at Brit's, then head over to Vincent for a British/French brunch buffet. Details of the event can be found here.

grandcafewknd.jpg5) Minnesota Craft Beer Dinner
When: Thursday, 6 p.m.
Where: Grand Cafe
What: The Southwest Minneapolis cafe is teaming up with Minnesota craft breweries, Bent Paddle, Indeed Brewing, and Surly, to bring a 5-course dinner on the eve of Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild's Winterfest. Spaces are limited so call for reservations. You can find more information about the dinner here.

boomislandtap.jpgAlso of Note: Boom Island Brewing opens their taproom doors for the first time and at the new location (Saturday, noon). Sausage Fest is back! Wednesday at Summit Brewery. The Lowry wants you to sip, munch, and mingle at a winter patio party (Thursday, 4 p.m.). Harriet Brewing celebrates their 3rd anniversary at The Cedar (Friday, 6 p.m.). If wine is your thing, make reservations at Solera (Tuesday) and Meritage (Wednesday) with wine dinners highlighting their respective countries. Didn't get tickets to Winterfest? Hit up Anchors & Ales and sip craft beer while looking at sweet boats (Friday, 5 p.m.). Want a few more options for the big game eating and drinking? Then check out Psycho Suzi's Suzi Bowl, Uptown Cafeteria's Big Gay Party, or Groundswell's Summit Bowl Party.
