Stick a Fork in Summer: Sandcastle and Sea Salt Closing This Week

The Lake Nokomis concession stand with the excellent beer and wine list will close up for the season tomorrow, while the beautiful seafood by the falls will fade away on Sunday.

In honor of their long goodbye, Sandcastle will pack the menu with specials for their final day of service tomorrow. Open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow, they will then close until the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships in January.

Tomorrow's weather forecast calls for highs in the low 60's and Sandcastle will be featuring several specials including, two for one chicken fingers, two for one plain hot dogs, half off fry bread, and half off cheese curds.  Plus, they have buy one tap beer, all boys (including Surly) or glass of wine for full price and get a second for just $3.

Meanwhile, Sea Salt has pulled in some Oktoberfest brews to their cooler and are stacking the po' boys high with fried sea bits before their final day on Sunday the 19th. End of season hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you haven't yet visited this essential Minneapolis restaurant, your days are limited. After Sunday, it's hasta la oyster until next spring.
