The second year of Minneapolis best craft cocktail tiki bar kicks off tomorrow at 5 p.m. The new Torpedo Room menu is focused on what co-owner Nick Kosevich admits is an, "odd genre of Midwest tiki." Each menu series inside the room will feature different bartender interpretations of what Tiki means to them. ("Flame retardant materials and snow cones" are what we're calling last year's theme.)
This week, drinks will be poured from the house team of bartenders with guest bartenders arriving the following week. Dates for October for the Torpedo Room are 21 through the 23 and 28 through 30. Regular hours are 7 p.m. to midnight.
November dates are 4 through 6, 11 through 13, 20, 21 with Kosevich and Bittercube Bitters business partner Ira Koplowitz pouring drinks on the 25 and 26.
The initial menu features an old favorite (we missed you Corn Tiki!) plus new including a daily grog "served out of aquarium artifacts" called either "Davy Jones Locker" or "The Edmund Fitzgerald" available by the punch cup ($5), mason jar ($10) all you can ladle ($45) or the double dog dare aquarium table side service ($100).
