Travail's Brunch Chef Pops Up Sunday Dinner

With the wild success of his Saturday brunch multi-course menus and one previous sold-out Sunday supper, chef Tony Callies is hosting another pop up event inside Travail.

Tickets are on sale now for supper inside Travail Kitchen and Amusements for Sunday October 19th. Guests will be treated to a special menu created only for this day with dishes like Scotch quail eggs (diminutive little ovums wrapped in sausage and fried); sage butter cooked shiitake mushrooms with a white cheddar emulsion; clover leaf brioche rolls and honey butter slathered croissants; charred veggies; chicken presse and more.

Callies made a name for himself as a chef at the Town Talk Diner, during boozy milkshake days, where he created hearty, hangover banishing brunches in addition to other sophisticated takes on diner fare. He has also done time in the kitchens of Citizen Cafe and Union. As a part of the Travail/Rookery team, Callies has brought back the brunches of yore with renewed vigor and has been regularly selling out his Saturday morning meals. (A few tickets remain for this weekend.)

The Sunday Supper pop up will have two seatings at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. with tickets costing $48.50, which includes the dinner plus two adult beverages. Additional cocktails, wine, beer or soda can be purchased with cash during the meal. Purchase tickets here.
