TKC Bakery Pop Up at The Dakota Tomorrow

Bakery pop ups are all the rage.

Travis Anderson

Pastry chef Katie Elsing is branching out from her regular duties inside the kitchen at The Dakota in downtown Minneapolis. Inspired by a trip to New York City and a meeting with Dominique Ansel (creator of the Cronut), she decided to set about fulfilling a pastry dream. She is now serving a recurring pop up out of the kitchen at The Dakota, where she works as pastry chef.

The Katie Chronicles or TKC Bakery has already hosted one event and her baked goods sold out in under two hours. Her sweet delights include smaller versions of her desserts from The Dakota's menu as well as twists of favorites. Tomorrow's menu includes peppermint truffle pops, mini coffee cakes, cheddar scones with honey butter, caramel corn, dark chocolate brownies, and an assortment of cookies, pastries and tarts. Prices start at just $1.50 each. She will also have tins available to save you the mess of holiday baking.

Upcoming pop ups include tomorrow, Tuesday December 16 and next Tuesday 23 beginning at 11a.m. inside The Dakota. For more information, check Twitter for @DakotaFoodie and #TheKatieChronicals.
