Surly Monster Cask Dinner, Brit's Oscars Party, & More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining and drinking events going on around the Twin Cities:

When: Monday, 6 p.m.
Where: The Bulldog, NE
What: Surly and The Bulldog NE are teaming up to bring a beer dinner featuring specialty casks from the brewery. Five courses (some of which use the beer in the dishes) will be paired with five cask beers (including the newly released Surly Blakkr). When: Sunday, 6 p.m.
Where: Brit's Pub
What: Sunday is Hollywood's biggest night and Brit's Pub is rolling out the red carpet for the event. Watch the Academy Awards broadcast in the Clubhouse Lounge while enjoying food and drink specials, picking the winners, taking a stab at trivia, and more. indeed.jpg3) Cajun 2 Geaux Mardi Gras Beer Dinner
When: Tuesday, 6 p.m.
Where: Indeed Brewing Co.
What: Celebrate Fat Tuesday with Indeed and Cajun 2 Geaux at a special beer dinner, New Orleans-style. Cajun 2 Geaux will be pairing five courses with Indeed beers with menu items like crawfish beignets and fried green tomatoes. Space is limited. Tickets and other information can be found here.

When: Friday, 6 to 11 p.m.
Where: Zeke's Unchained Animal
What: The uptown bar and restaurant is doing their own Mardi Gras style party complete with Louisiana music and Cajun cooking. Listen to two New Orleans jazz bands while sipping hurricanes and eating jambalaya. Check out more information about the event here.

When: Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Jax Cafe
What: Jax Cafe is doing it up again for the annual Mardi Gras brunch on Sunday. Get your fill of beignets, étouffée, oysters, and more at the Cajun themed brunch complete with Dixie music. Reservations are recommended. Full menu and details of the event can be found here.

/verdant%20tea.jpgAlso of Note: Birchwood Cafe kicks off their daily pop-up at the Verdant Tea tasting room during construction (Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon). Minnesota Monthly's Food & Wine show is taking place this Saturday and Sunday at Target Field. Get on these events quickly as they are happening tonight (Thursday): Pig & Fiddle is is hosting a beer dinner featuring selections from Indeed; welcome Lyft to the Twin Cities by eating Glam Doll Donuts at their free event; and get sexy at The Four Firkins for the rescheduled beer tasting event. And finally, starting this Tuesday, The Gray House is offering a $20 3-course prix fixe menu Tuesdays through Thursdays.
