Seward neighborhood standby Birchwood Cafe will be closing on February 22nd—in 17 days—for its remodel and expansion, but savory waffle fans, never fear: they've announced that they will be launching a breakfast pop-up at nearby Verdant Tea on March 1st.
The cafe met its $100,000 Kickstarter goal back in November (actually, it raised a full $112,126), and it's using the money to expand and remodel the current space. They are planning to reopen "come Spring," according to their Facebook page. Their soon-to-be breakfast host, Verdant Tea, opened in Seward last summer and has always featured a Birchwood-designed vegetarian menu.
