Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining and drinking events going on around the Twin Cities:

aria.jpg1) Share Our Strength's Minneapolis Cakewalk
When: Thursday, 8 p.m.
Where: Aria
What: Michelle Gayer (Salty Tart) and Tim McKee (La Belle Vie) invite you to Aria for a night of drinking, dancing, and desserts to benefit Share Our Strength's efforts to end childhood hunger. Online ticket sales have ended but general admission tickets are still available at the door, cash or credit. Find the full list of notable Twin Cities chefs and restaurants in attendance here.

ButcherBoar.jpg2) Butcher and the Boar 2nd Anniversary Bash
When: Sunday, 1 p.m.
Where: Butcher and the Boar
What: Has it been two years already? Apparently, yes. B&TB is throwing a bash to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. They are opening up the dining room (no reservations) and serving food in the heated beer garden. The featured brewery is Fulton and food offerings include new and classic bites. When: Monday, 5 to 8 p.m.
Where: The Buttered Tin
What: The Buttered Tin is serving dinner! (FYI, The Buttered Tin is normally open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) But on Monday, St. Patrick's Day, the Lowertown bakery and restaurant is doing a 3-course Irish feast which includes a Guinness chocolate cake made with 2 Gingers Irish whiskey ganache and Baileys Irish cream mouse. When: Saturday, 2 to 5 p.m.
Where: Ward 6
What: Miss out on Schell's Bockfest in New Ulm? Guess what? You can still get your Bock poked. Schell's Brewery is taking their fire pits and beer pokers to Ward 6 this Saturday. In addition to caramelized beer, there will be German food specials, music, and all 4 beers in the 30th Anniversary Pilsner series from Schell's. Check out the event flyer here.

Tastemakers_640.jpg5) Tastemakers March 2014: Save the Bees
When: Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: The Ritz Theater
What: Save the bees! Beads? BEES. Tastemakers is back and Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl hosts an expert panel to discuss the plight of our pollinators. The event also has food from Lucia's and Common Roots, cocktails made with local, sustainably-raised honey, and the chance to schmooze with DMG and Stephanie March. Chowgirls Catering is doing a Luck of the Locavore Irish dinner (Monday, 5 p.m.). (Chowgirls is CANCELED) Eat good food and support the community at Graze 4 Good (Sunday, 5 p.m.).Rally for Sunday sales with the Minnesota Beer Activists at First Ave (Monday, 7 p.m.). Celebrate Barley John's 14th anniversary (Sunday, 4 p.m). Northgate Brewing is releasing a Chocolate Cherry Porter at Aster Cafe (Friday, 8 p.m.). Tickets for Dinner on the Farm's Tropical Cinefeast are going fast (March 23rd) so plan accordingly. Secure your reservation (and maybe take out a bank loan) for another one of Erik Anderson's pop up dinners, this time at Borough featuring 20 courses (!) plus beverage pairings from Bill Summerville (March 31st).
