Both The Bachelor Farmer's Paul Berglund and Corner Table's Thomas Boemer are nominees in the Midwest category of Food & Wine Magazine's People's Best New Chef contest. Every year, in addition to naming their picks for America's 10 best new chefs, Food & Wine Magazine runs an online poll for the People's Best New Chef, voted by readers. Berglund and Boemer are among ten Midwest chefs in the poll, which runs from March 24 to March 31 (you can vote right here). For each chef, Food & Wine gives a one-sentence run-down on "why he's amazing":
On Berglund: "Because he's redefining Nordic cooking in Minnesota with his sophisticated and modern treatment of its humble ingredients."
On Boemer: "Because he combines European techniques, Low-Country influences and prime Midwestern ingredients in clever ways."
