Khanh Tran IN as Pastry Chef at The Bachelor Farmer

Former Cosmos pastry chef Khanh Tran had her first day of service as The Bachelor Farmer's new pastry chef yesterday. Tran has worked at Café Levain, and the now-shuttered 20.21 and Auriga. Tran spent the past seven years at Cosmos and Graves 601; when she quit Cosmos in January, the word was that she was taking a break after having a baby and would be picking up shifts at South Minneapolis bakery extraordinaire Patisserie 46 and the upcoming Russell Klein restaurant Brasserie Zentral. Now that she's pastry chef at The Bachelor Farmer, though, those other projects are off and she will be devoting her full time to the North Loop restaurant.

The current menu still includes non-Tran desserts, but her additions should be coming in the near future. Tran was a James Beard Foundation Award semi-finalist for best pastry chef in 2009, and also won the local Charlie Award for outstanding pastry chef in 2011.
