After softly opening last week, Brasserie Zentral—the new downtown spot from Meritage's Russell and Desta Klein—is now officially open (and taking reservations). With a kitchen helmed by Russell Klein, the restaurant focuses on continental European food, including dishes like Quark spaetzle with braised rabbit and veal schnitzel. The 150-seat space is the central element of a multi-part downtown takeover that will also include Café Zentral (a skyway spot featuring grab-n-go European street food), Foreign Legion (a street-level wine bar opening this fall), and a Zentral retail wine shop.

Brasserie Zentral is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; it's open for dinner Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
