On Wednesday, the first Minneapolis location of Midwest chain JL Beers opened its doors in the historic 1910 Fire Station Repair Shop in Northeast. The chain originated in Fargo in 2009 and has locations mostly in North Dakota, one in South Dakota, and now two in Minnesota (the second site being in Moorehead). The 21+ burger joint/beer hall features 40 beers on tap, 30 in bottles, and 15 in cans, plus cheap burgers (most are under $5, without fries), fries, chips, dips and one dessert. The Minneapolis location's menu is now available online.

JL Beers is open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight.
