Upcoming Loring Park brewery/taproom Sisyphus Brewing Co. quietly launched a Kickstarter campaign two weeks ago, with some key details about the taproom and brewery space, including the above photo. The brewery/taproom is slated to open in late spring, and will be located at 712 Ontario Ave. in Loring Park.

According to the Kickstarter page, Sisyphus has designed the taproom to run on a small two barrel system, allowing for constant change-ups in the beer selection. The brewery's official website lists a couple potential brews, including an oatmeal pale ale (nitro/cask), a Russian imperial stout, a black IPA with coffee and oak, and an imperial steam beer. The taproom itself features exposed brick walls, huge windows, the original low-beamed ceiling, and a taproom dog named Albert.

Sisyphus is owned by husband-and-wife team Samuel and Catherine Herriman. According to the Kickstarter page, they are planning on two phases in opening Sisyphus. The first phase is completing the taproom and getting the beer brewing; the second phase is building out a performance space that will feature local and national entertainment.

The Kickstarter is raising funds to hire local artists Adam Turman and Jawsh to paint a mural on the exterior of Sisyphus's building, which faces the 94/394 interchange. So far, the project has 123 backers and has raised $5,543. Now, with 15 days less to go on the Kickstarter, they're less than $500 away from their $6,000 goal.
