To promote its new "handcrafted" menu, national mega-chain TGI Fridays has launched its first-ever food truck, which is making its national debut in the Twin Cities this week (it's simultaneously debuting in Boston). The marketing campaign—called "Summer of Fridays"—has the truck traveling the country and giving out complimentary food and drink samples from the "handcrafted menu," which is available in full on the website.
In each city, TGI Fridays is also teaming up with local "handcrafters" to further drive home the handcrafted message (handcrafted! handcrafted!). In the Twin Cities, they are partnering with Carver Junk Company, a local company focused on vintage and repurposed furnishings.
The Fridays Food Truck will be making two appearances in the Cities: one on May 22 (4-7 p.m.) at Midway Stadium for the St. Paul Saints game and the other on May 25 at Canterbury Park for the Soundset Music Festival.
