Cider Bicycle Crawl, Memory Lanes Block Party & More

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining and drinking events going on around the Twin Cities:

townhallbrewtap.jpg1) Minneapolis Cider Bicycle Crawl
When: Saturday, 11 a.m.
Where: Town Hall Locations, Sociable Cider Werks
What: The first Minneapolis Cider Bicycle Crawl is happening on Saturday to close out cider week. This is a self-guided tour through the city visiting Town Hall Tap, Town Hall Lanes, Town Hall Brewery, and Sociable Cider Werks. Start at any location, get your wristband punched, drink cider, and the first person to finish all four locations gets a prize from the location they finish at. Find more information here.

memorylanes.jpg2) Memory Lanes Block Party
When: Saturday & Sunday, 3 p.m.
Where: Memory Lanes Bowl
What: The Lanes is hosting its annual block party this weekend. The two-day, free event is all ages and will go on rain or shine. Drink PBR and Summit beer and eat food while watching so many bands, it's not even funny. See the full music lineup and find other information here.

ExcelsiorTapRm.jpg3) Excelsior Brewing Taproom Re-Opening
When: Saturday, noon
Where: Excelsior Brewing Co.
What: Excelsior has expanded their taproom and is throwing a party on Saturday for its grand re-opening. Red River food truck will be there along with bands, shuffleboard, and so much more. Find more information about the brewery, the expansion, and the party here.

borough.jpg4) Alsacian Wine Dinner
When: Thursday, 7 p.m.
Where: Borough
What: There are still a few spots left for a wine dinner at Borough this evening. Alsace is a region in France and Ann Trimbach of Trimbach Wines will be hosting the five-course dinner with items like grilled prawns paired with Riesling and smoked pork belly with Pinot Gris. Find reservation details, full menu with parings, and more here.

birchwoodnew.jpg5) Birchwood Cafe Plant Sale
When: Saturday, 9 a.m.
Where: Birchwood Cafe
What: Birchwood has competed their expansion and remodel and re-opened this past week. Stop in for savory waffles, tofu hash, and vegan doughnuts, and then pick up some plants. Farmer Greg Reynolds will be on site with heirloom tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, lettuces, kale, cabbage, onions, and garden kits for sale. Find details here.

V44brunch.jpgAlso of Note: That one fried chicken thing is sold out for Sunday but you can get your fancy fried chicken fix at Victory 44 instead (Friday). It is a holiday weekend so check to see if your favorite dining spots are open or not. Tip: Sea Salt and Sandcastle are both open. Steel Toe just announced that their taproom will now be open on Sundays (no growler sales) and they are also open on Monday. Oh, and get your tickets for next month's Share our Strength HOTlist event (June 23).
