Lake Street gastropub The Gray House, which has recently come to fame for its Tuesday-Thursday prix fixe menu, will be closing on July 31st, according to an announcement on its Facebook page. The post reads:
"Well folks.... it is with the most positive feelings that I announce, July 31st will be our last day at 610 W Lake Street. Our lease is up and I have decided to move in a different direction. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and will take the knowledge gathered to a new a exciting concept. I hope when the time comes, you will be as excited as I am. BOOM.BANG.POW"
Over at Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl has more details on the upcoming shutter. She reports that chef Ian Gray got divorced and his ex-father-in-law, otherwise known as the major investor in the restaurant, wants his money back.
According to Moskowitz Grumdahl, Gray is looking to move to a space in Northeast along with his sous chef Jessica Knettel and front of house manager Kiri Anderson.
