Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining and drinking events going on around the Twin Cities:
1) Indeed Beer Dinner at Gray House
When: Sunday, 6 p.m.
Where: The Gray House
What: Folks from Indeed Brewing along with chef Ian Gray have put together a 5-course beer dinner. You may have heard that the Uptown farm-focused spot will close at the end of July so get in on this beer dinner while you can. Spots are limited and reservations must be made in advance. 2) Artcrank Minneapolis 2014
When: Saturday, 4 p.m.
Where: Shelter Studios
What: Bikes, Art, and Doing Good! Artcrank is a bike and art festival that stages live events featuring bicycle-inspired posters created by local artists. And there's food and beer! The folks at Bryant Lake Bowl and Chow Girls are pitching in to serve beers and there will be a bunch of food trucks, too. Find more info here.
3) Bell Museum Social
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: Bell Museum of Natural History
What: Gastro Non Grata presents Bell Social at the Bell Museum. Check out new works by Bell Museum artist in residence, Andy Ducett, culinary creations from Tilia, live music by The Dead Pigeons, a cash bar, and so much more. Tickets and more information can be found here.
4) Open Streets Northside Greenway
When: Saturday, 10 a.m.
Where: Northside Greenway
What: Open Streets is back for the season and kicks off on the Northside Greeway. The streets are open to bikes and pedestrians of all ages to explore the neighborhood car-free. There's food, shows, demonstrations, and so much more. Check out details of the event here.
5) Grand Old Day
When: Sunday, 9:30 a.m.
Where: Grand Avenue (between Wheeler and Dale)
What: St. Paul's annual tradition is back with the largest one-day festival in the Midwest. A parade, live music, beer gardens, and tons of food can be found along the avenue. Food vendors include Brasa Rotisserie, Pizza Luce, food trucks, and much more. Maps, guides, and schedules of they day's events can be found here.
Also of Note: Sour beer! Bent Brewstillery will be at Ward 6 to release Acclivity, a rosé Berliner Weiße, the first in their sour series (Thursday, 4 p.m.). Big Wood Brewery is teaming up with FireLake for a 6-course beer dinner (Thursday, 6 p.m.). There still appears to be space in Jesse Held's cocktail class at Borough (Saturday, 2 p.m.). Do you like drinking beer and doing good for mankind? Hit up Surly's taproom to donate blood (Monday starting at noon).
