Due to Epic Demand, Bogart's Doughnut Co. Upping Production

Some good news for late-rising doughnut fans: Southwest doughnut shop Bogart's Doughnut Co. announced on its Facebook page that it's adding a second fryer that should be up and running by Saturday. Since opening three weeks ago, the doughnut phenomenon has created epic lines (up to an hour wait) and often sold out within hours of opening every morning (sometimes sold out by 9 a.m.).

Because the dough has to be made a day in advance, the doughnuts are made in a limited number every day, and when they're gone, they're gone. So far, owner Anne Rucker has tried to control the doughnut-hungry hordes by limiting purchases to a dozen doughnuts, handing out coupons for free doughnuts during epic waits, and not allowing special orders. The second, larger fryer should considerably expand production. (Pro tip: Rucker tends to post on Facebook when the doughnut supply is running low and when it's sold out for the day.)
